The story of Cakes D’ Sabores begins in a small country in Central America. Mother and daughter, Aleida and Lesly Ordonez, immigrated from Honduras in pursuit of the American Dream. After having her second child, Aleida made the life-changing decision to come to America in hopes of building a better future for her family. When Aleida and her husband arrived, they had quite literally nothing to their names. Still, they carried with them the hope needed to build a new life together.
For 15 years, Aleida worked multiple jobs, seven days a week, until she discovered her passion for baking in 2008. What started as a hobby quickly became something much bigger. Between college semesters, Lesly would come home to help, and each time she returned, she found her mother busier than before. While still working multiple jobs, Aleida spent countless hours baking from her home kitchen, slowly turning her passion into a growing business.

After nine years of running the bakery from home while balancing multiple jobs, Aleida and Lesly decided it was time to take the biggest risk of their lives. In 2017, they set out to open their very first storefront.
They visited more than ten banks, sharing their business plan and asking for a loan. Not a single bank was willing to take a chance on them. Refusing to give up, they pooled together their life savings and invested everything they had into opening their bakery.
The first year was incredibly difficult. Having never owned a storefront before, they learned as they went. They didn’t even break even during that first year, and some months, only 50 customers walked through their doors. But they never stopped believing in what they had built.

Fast forward to today, and Cakes D’ Sabores has expanded into the space next door, doubling its size to keep up with its growing family of customers. Today, we proudly serve thousands of customers every month and create more than 100 custom orders each week.
Shopping at Cakes D’ Sabores means supporting the American Dream. From a small village in Honduras to a family-owned bakery in America, Aleida and Lesly have built something they once only dreamed of. Every cake, pastry, and dessert is still made from scratch using recipes they’ve carefully perfected over nearly 20 years.
