Who we aretasty
The story of Cakes D Sabores starts way back from a country in Central America. Mother daughter duo, Lesly & Aleida Ordonez are immigrants from Honduras. Aleida, after being born and raised there decided after having her second child she wanted to come to America to pursue the coveted American Dream. It is not hyperbolic or an embellishment to say Aleida and her husband came to America with quite literally NOTHING to their names. Aleida spent 15 YEARS working multiple jobs 7 days per week until finally she found her passion in baking in 2008. At the time, she started baking as a hobby and Lesly, in between semesters at college would come home and help her out. Only after each semester, she'd find her mother busier and busier. Aleida, while still having multiple other jobs, worked tirelessly out of her kitchen and her hobby had blossomed into a full fledged business
Then in 2017, after 9 YEARS of holding 2 jobs and running this business out of their home, Aleida and Lesly endeavored to open their first storefront. They went to over 10 different banks showing their proof of concept asking for a loan and not ONE SINGLE bank took a chance. Not to be deterred, they decided to pool their life savings together and take a risk and open their first storefront in 2017, again, putting EVERYTHING on the line.
